‘Million Dollar Decorators’ Season 2 premiere, plus a twist

Share

Design fans, set your DVRs: Bravo’s “Million Dollar Decorators” returns for its second season tonight at 10. The series chronicles the extravagant exploits of Los Angeles designers Martyn Lawrence Bullard, Kathryn M. Ireland, Mary McDonald and Jeffrey Alan Marks, who are given to proclamations such as “Decorating is totally delicious” (Bullard, in a droll English accent) and, “Who wouldn’t love a job where you get to spend other people’s money?” (McDonald).

As an antidote to the eye-popping, wallet-bruising shopping trips and frequent bickering you’ll see during the course of eight episodes, we posed a simple, light-hearted challenge: Use their “Million Dollar Decorators’” eyes to find the best buys at Kmart and Marshalls.

What did they discover? You’ll find out later this week when we post the results of our Million Dollar Decorator expeditions, a sequel to my budget shopping runs with Philippe Starck at Big Lots and Kelly Wearstler at Cost Plus World Market.
