OVERVIEW

This is the second coming of the Nissan Murano sport utility. Its makers claim that the vehicle is all new, but it retains many familiar features, like the 3.5-liter V-6 engine and continuously variable transmission. Fresh features are seen in the equipment list, such as hard-disk-based navigation with real-time traffic, a rearview monitor and what Nissan calls Intelligent Key.

Just as before, the Murano will be available in front-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive configurations, though the interior has been redesigned for a more upmarket appeal. Nissan claims enhanced performance, so expect a modest hike in power.

HOW MUCH?

OUR TAKE

No big surprises. And that’s not necessarily a bad thing. The current Murano has an unusually taut ride for this class. Because Nissan has also promised enhanced ride comfort, it will be interesting to see what the company has done with the second generation.
