Michael Newman is deputy editor of the editorial pages. Before joining The Times in May 2005, he was an editor on the op-ed page of the New York Times. He has also been an editor and reporter for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Far Eastern Economic Review, the New Republic and Business 2.0 magazine.
Newman earned a bachelor’s degree from Stanford and a master’s degree from Yale Law School, where he was a Knight Fellow in Journalism.
