LOS ANGELES, July 13, 2010 — Hollywood will be wafting with enticing aromas on Sunday, September 5th when the inaugural Los Angeles Times Celebration of Food & Wine turns the streets of Paramount Pictures Studio into a day-long culinary extravaganza.

From true epicureans to those who simply love good food, wine and fun, the Celebration will deliver all the key ingredients needed to satisfy Angelenos' demanding and varied appetites. The Times Food section's writers and editors, celebrity chefs, a wide range of award-winning restaurants and world-class vintners will serve up new twists and classic favorites. Throw in a special VIP tasting, some of L.A.'s hottest food trucks and garnish it all with a cool, homegrown headliner for a bit of musical dessert and you've got a great way to end the summer.

"When it comes to food, Southern California is the most exciting place in the country and maybe even the world," said the Times' Food Editor Russ Parsons. "We have great farmers, markets, wineries, and wonderful cooks and restaurants from almost any nation. What we want to do with this event is share our enthusiasm about the things we love the most with as many people as we can."

Multiple outdoor stages will feature an eclectic mix of live cooking demonstrations from the likes of Suzanne Goin (A.O.C., Lucques, Tavern, The Hungry Cat) and Mark Peel (Campanile, The Tar Pit) and attendees can sample delectables from more than 100 local, national and international food and beverage exhibitors. Secrets and recipes from the Times' test kitchen will be shared and Russ Parsons will moderate conversations with culinary tastemakers. Other participants include Ludo Lefebvre, the mastermind behind "pop-up" French restaurant LudoBites, 'Top Chef' Season 6 winner Michael Voltaggio, John Sedlar of Rivera, Jimmy Shaw of Loteria Grill, and Jon Shook and Vinny Dotolo of Animal.

For those obsessed with the truck trend, Don Chow Tacos (Chinese/Mexican fusion), The Sweets Truck (bakeshop and gourmet coffeehouse) and The Buttermilk Truck (homemade breakfast delights) will be on hand, while beer and liquor enthusiasts will have access to hundreds of the best microbrews and spirits. Master sommeliers and crafty mixologists will ensure wine lovers can enjoy unique pairings and cocktail aficionados can imbibe artistic creations.

The event will also offer a specially-ticketed, intimate VIP area featuring artisanal tastings from more than 20 premier Southern California restaurants and vintners.

Tickets on sale now at https://latimesfoodandwine.eventbrite.com/: General admission $55 in advance ($65 at the door)/ VIP Tasting $125. Attendees must be 21 and over (no exceptions, strictly enforced, valid government issued ID required at door).
