Fast Times
It’s loud and fast, a breathless blur of color that spins heads and sends pulses soaring. In other words, a perfect fit for Vegas.
We’re talking NASCAR Weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, showcasing a distinctly Sin City take on the wildly popular sport, headlined by the Kobalt Tools 400 Sprint Cup Series race on March 11 and the Sam’s Town 300 Nationwide Series on March 10.
More than just racing, NASCAR Weekend is a celebration that encompasses the entire city. It is, in fact, the largest sporting event west of Texas, drawing upward of 300,000 fans from all over the world.
There’s nothing like NASCAR in Vegas. Where else can fans hang out in a place called the Neon Garage? Known as the Disneyland of NASCAR, the Neon Garage is a swirl of nonstop live music and Vegas-style entertainment, offering unmatched up-close views of the drivers and pit crews.
The party kicks off Thursday night when the Strip closes down for the Annual Hauler Parade, a half-hour procession of the huge, colorful NASCAR team transporters. On Friday, it’s Stratosphere Pole Day at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, featuring practice runs for the Kobalt 400 and Sam’s Town 300.
Seating is available with various levels of perks and accessibility, with weekend packages starting at $99.
Think of it as auto racing meets Coachella, all right next door to the Strip. Start your engines, indeed.
