Jack Nicholson’s Malibu spread sells for $3.5 million
Actor Jack Nicholson has sold his Malibu spread for $3.5 million, according to the Multiple Listing Service. It came on the market in February at $4.25 million.
The 70-acre property, zoned for equestrian use, includes a ranch-style main house, a caretaker home, a tennis court, a cabana, a putting green, a swimming pool, a grotto-style spa and miles of trails. The single-story main home, built in 1966, has mountain and ocean views. Its 2,313 square feet of living space contain three bedrooms, two bathrooms and maid’s quarters.
Nicholson, 74, won Oscars for his roles in “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” (1975), “Terms of Endearment” (1983) and “As Good as It Gets” (1997) during a career that also has included playing lawyer George Hanson in “Easy Rider” (1969), maniacal villain Jack Torrance in “The Shining” (1980) and the Joker and his alter ego Jack Napier in “Batman” (1989).
Public records show he bought the retreat in 1977 and owns multiple properties in Southern California, including an estate in Beverly Hills.
Rodrigo Iglesias and Richard Hilton of Hilton & Hyland, Beverly Hills, were the listing agents. Sarah Sutton and Drew Snyder of Snyder Sutton Real Estate, Topanga, represented the buyer, according the MLS.
