Brian DePalma: In the Sept. 9 Calendar section, a headline with an article about film director Brian De Palma said, “A master toys tinkers with a thriller.” It should have said, “A master tinkers with a thriller.”

Bronze Star recipient: In some copies of the Sept. 8 Section A, an article about former prisoner of war Dick Cooksley said that it had been nearly six decades since his release. It has been nearly seven decades.

College football: An item in the Big 12 Conference Report in the Sept. 2 Sports section gave the wrong nickname for the University of Kansas team when it said that Tony Pierson rushed for two touchdowns in Charlie Weis’ debut as coach of the Jackrabbits. Kansas is the Jayhawks. South Dakota State, the team Kansas played, is the Jackrabbits.

North Carolina: An article in the Sept. 2 Section A about the increasing importance of the Latino vote in North Carolina said that Charlotte, site of the Democratic National Convention, is the state’s capital. The capital is Raleigh.
