Earthquake: 3.7 quake strikes near Lassen National Forest
A shallow magnitude 3.7 earthquake was reported Thursday evening eight miles from Chester, Calif, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 8:56 p.m. Pacific time at a depth of zero miles.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was 28 miles from Susanville, Calif., 35 miles from Magalia, Calif., 40 miles from Paradise, Calif., and 101 miles from Carson City, Nev.
In the last 10 days, there have been two earthquakes magnitude 3.0 and greater centered nearby.
