A man was shot and killed after an argument outside of a party early Sunday morning in East Los Angeles, authorities said.

Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies responded to the 200 block of North Alma Avenue after receiving reports of gunshots in the area about 3:30 a.m. Sunday, said Deputy Mike Barraza. They found a man lying in the middle of the street suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses told authorities that a large group of people outside the party were trying to get the victim to leave. Shots rang out during that argument. The suspect remains at large.
