On Tuesday, a Marin County sheriff’s dive team found his body where he was last seen, authorities said.

The coroner’s office is looking into the cause and manner of his death. Findings could take six to eight weeks, authorities said.

Van Lier was reportedly camping with his wife and friends when he disappeared, KTVU reported. His wife said she thought he had gone hiking but became concerned when he didn’t return and called authorities.

Van Lier founded Candide Consultancy, which offers consulting to companies committed to sustainable development, according to his Linkedin profile.
