Police investigate robbery and fire at Burbank mini-mart

Burbank authorities have launched an investigation into a fire that broke out at a convenience store following a robbery late Thursday.

Burbank police officers responded around 8:50 p.m. to a robbery at the Sevan Mini Market at 1516 N. San Fernando Blvd., officials said.

But when officers arrived, the building was on fire. The store clerk told them he had been robbed by three people and that at least one had a gun.

The worker, who was not identified by police, suffered minor injuries in the robbery.

Burbank police said they didn’t know how much money was taken, and there was no description of the robbers or a getaway vehicle. Police said the fire may be related to the robbery.

The Burbank Fire Department has launched an investigation into the fire and will determine the cause of the blaze.
