Green Line service restored after woman talked off tracks
Regular service has been restored to the Green Line after a woman climbed onto the tracks, the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority said Thursday afternoon.
The Green Line was closed at several stops in South L.A. from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. when the transient climbed onto the tracks in Hawthorne, said Lt. Scott Swain of the Hawthorne Police Department.
She got onto the tracks above the Aviation Boulevard and Rosecrans Avenue intersection. She never threatened to jump, but did say she thought it’d be better if she wasn’t around, Swain said.
Police talked her down, and she was taken to a hospital for a mental evaluation. No injuries were reported.
