Man charged in ‘Make it Quick’ bank robberies

A 40-year-old Lennox man was charged in Los Angeles-area bank robberies linked to the “Make It Quick” bandit,” the FBI said Tuesday.
During the robberies, the bandit was seen in surveillance photos wearing sunglasses as he passed notes to tellers demanding cash. The robberies took place at banks in San Pedro, Gardena, Inglewood, Carson and Torrance, according to court records.
FBI agents interviewed Julio Cesar Porres on Friday at county jail, where he was being held on a traffic warrant violation. He allegedly admitted robbing several Los Angeles-area banks in the last two years, according to a criminal complaint filed Tuesday in U.S. District Court.
Porres also admitted that he was the person in a number of bank surveillance photos that were shown to him by the agents, the complaint says.
He was arrested after a tip to law enforcement authorities. Porres was scheduled to appear before a magistrate Tuesday afternoon at the federal courthouse in downtown Los Angeles.
