Sunday Supermoon captured on social media
Sunday’s Supermoon brought more images from across Southern California.
The moon reached its closest proximity to Earth at 4:32 a.m. PDT on Sunday. The result, a so-called Supermoon, appears up to 14% larger and 30% brighter than a typical full moon.
As on Saturday night, Sunday night had people reaching for their cameras to capture the Supermoon.

When the moon reached its perigee, it was 221,824 miles away from Earth — 16,176 miles closer than usual.
The supermoon may have a tiny effect on the Earth’s tides, but even if you live near the beach, you probably won’t notice. NASA officials say tides may be an inch higher than usual.
