A Yorba Linda man who raped three women, one of whom was his ex-girlfriend, and two others who he met online, has been sentenced to 24 years in state prison.

Jason Ara Erpinar, 24, was convicted of two felony counts of rape by intoxication and one felony count of forcible rape, according to a written statement from the Orange County district attorney’s office. He was sentenced Friday.

In addition to the prison term, he will have to register as a sex offender.

Erpinar met one victim, a 22-year-old, on Myspace in 2008 and asked her out on a date. After an afternoon of heavy drinking, he raped her at a motel. When she awoke the next morning she had a cracked tooth and scrapes on her face, the statement said.

The victim reported the case to Newport Beach police, but charges were not filed because authorities felt there was insufficient evidence at the time, prosecutors said.

About one year later, Erpinar met an 18-year-old woman on Myspace. He invited her to a house party and after she became intoxicated, he raped her on a bedroom floor.

The woman also reported the rape the next day, this time to the La Habra Police Department.

During their investigation La Habra officers said they learned that Erpinar had raped his ex-girlfriend while they were in a relationship in 2007.

Erpinar had previously pleaded guilty to the crimes and was sentenced to 15 years in state prison in August 2011, but he withdrew the plea because of the length of the sentence, according to prosecutors.

He was convicted by a jury last year.
