It’s July 1 and some Florida Gators fans suddenly might find themselves staring into the eyes of a man charged with murdering three people.

Aaron Hernandez is the featured player for the month of July on a 2014 Gators football calendar, which is still available for sale through Target.com.

The calendar was approved by school officials last spring, school spokesman Daniel Apple said, prior to the former Florida and New England Patriots tight end’s June 26, 2013, arrest in the killing of Odin Lloyd.

Hernandez has since also been indicted on two counts of first-degree murder in the shooting of Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges against him.

Apple said there’s not much the school can do about the situation at this point since the calendar has already been distributed for sale.

He added that although the university has informed the third-party maker of the calendar that it no longer approves the product, those already in print will not be recalled.
