Boston Marathon bombings

Two explosions near the finish line of the Boston Marathon just before 3 p.m. on April 15, 2013, killed three and injured 264 others. The FBI identified the suspects as brothers Tamerlan Tsarnaev, who was killed during the manhunt, and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, who is awaiting trial. Killed in the bombings were Krystle Marie Campbell, Lu Lingzi and Martin William Richard. MIT Patrol Officer Sean Collier also was fatally shot April 18 following an altercation with the suspects.
