Magnitude-4.4 earthquake jolts Tennessee, felt in Atlanta
Reporting from Decatur, Tenn. — The U.S. Geological Survey said Wednesday that a magnitude-4.4 earthquake struck eastern Tennessee and could be felt in Atlanta.
The quake occurred Wednesday around 4:14 a.m. EST about 7 miles northeast of Decatur. About 13 minutes later, a magnitude-3.3 magnitude struck, the USGS said.
There were no immediate reports of injuries.
