Connecticut father who shot son will let police search computer

A Connecticut man who shot his 15-year-old son to death will allow police to investigate the boy’s computer and phone in the search for answers after the shooting, his attorney said.

The man, Jeffrey Giuliano, told police he had gone outside about 1 a.m. on Sept. 27 after his sister had called him about a man lurking outside her home dressed in black and wearing a ski mask. The brother and sister live next door in New Fairfield, Conn.

Authorities said the masked person, holding a shiny object, approached Giuliano in a threatening manner. Giuliano then shot the person.

Later, he was told that the person was his son, Tyler. No charges have been filed in the incident.

Lawyer Gene Zingaro told the Associated Press that Giuliano is cooperating with the request by state police because he and his wife also want answers.

“In my opinion, the focus of the investigation has shifted from what happened on the night of the shooting to why Tyler was where he was and what he was doing, what his intentions were,” Zingaro told the Associated Press.
