Bass and Booker make the case for police reforms

Rep. Karen Bass, D-Los Angeles, and Sen. Cory Booker, D-New Jersey, told the Los Angeles Times editorial board that their policing bill would put in place standards, measurements and consequences that were proposed by the Kerner Commission in 1968. “We are a loving country with a vicious and cruel criminal justice system,” Booker said.
