Wells Fargo and the Festival of Arts joined efforts recently to celebrate and give back to veterans.
About 50 veterans who had graduated from the Working Wardrobes VetNet job placement and skill training program attended a seminar on financial literacy in Laguna Beach on Aug. 30.
“Providing a unique cultural art experience for military members and their families through the partnership with Wells Fargo was an incredible honor,” said Fred Sattler, president of the Festival of Arts. “Not only was it a fun night out, but also an opportunity to thank veterans for their bravery and service.”
After the event, the veterans had dinner at Tivoli Terrace. Diane Challis Davy, director of the Pageant of the Masters, the famed live-art showcase, was a special guest.
After dinner, those veterans and guests joined 200 other veterans for the summer’s pageant, “The Pursuit of Happiness.” The performance was dedicated to the veterans in the audience, who were thanked for their service by pageant narrator Richard Doyle.
They received a standing ovation, and soprano Ani Maldjian sang the national anthem.
