Police closed a large portion of Laguna Canyon Road Tuesday night when a Mercedes-Benz rolled over and knocked down a utility pole near Big Bend, according to authorities.
The Mercedes was headed south on Laguna Canyon road before the crash, according to police, who got a call about the crash about 7 p.m.
When officers arrived, they found the car on its roof.
The crash’s cause is still being investigated, but Laguna Beach police Sgt. David McGill said the Mercedes left the road at some point and struck a utility pole.
The impact severed the pole, and police closed down Laguna Canyon Road between Canyon Acres Drive and El Toro Road so crews could make repairs.
The road reopened about 3:30 a.m., McGill said.
The 67-year-old Laguna Beach woman driving the Mercedes was not injured in the crash.
Police said they do not think alcohol was a factor. No other vehicles were involved.
