Burglars smash glass door in 3 a.m. downtown break-in, police say

Burglars broke into a high-end clothing store in downtown Laguna Beach by smashing through a glass door early Monday, according to police.

Officers responded to an alarm at Robin’s Jean store, 264 Forest Ave., about 3 a.m. and discovered someone had shattered the front door to get inside, Laguna Beach police Sgt. Tim Kleiser said.

Police reviewed surveilance video footage that showed three suspected burglars making off with several items of clothing, Kleiser said.

Investigators are now going over that footage to compile descriptions of the suspects, and the store is checking its inventory to determine exactly what was taken and its value, Kleiser said.

No further information was immediately available.
