Around Town: New city engineer named
City Manager John Pietig has announced the appointment of Christina Templeton as the next city engineer for Laguna Beach. She will start her new position on Nov. 12.
Templeton is a licensed civil engineer in California with 24 years of professional experience. She holds a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering with an emphasis in structural engineering from Cal State Polytechnic, Pomona, according to a news release.
Templeton has worked for the city of Irvine since 2001. While in Irvine, she oversaw the design and construction of public parks and facilities, delivered several significant capital improvement projects, and managed over 1.4 million square feet of public space, according to the release.
Prior to Irvine, Templeton worked in the private sector on a variety of projects with budgets of up to $800 million, the release said. Templeton lives with her husband in San Clemente.
