Pet of the Week: Dodger

Share

Dodger has his charms, but he also has a mischievous side — like his namesake, the wily child pickpocket in Dickens’ classic.

Shelter volunteers enjoy his lively and affectionate personality on walks, where he steals twigs with abandon. This terrier mix arrived as a stray in October. About 1 year old and weighing 14 pounds, he is healthy, housebroken and neutered.

After he found a home last month, he was returned because of behavioral problems with the family’s other dog. Dodger apparently sought to be the top — and perhaps only — canine in the household.

Whether this was just part of his puppy-like exuberance or something else is uncertain. A potential adopter is encouraged to consider how Dodger might be more effectively trained and socialized. He is ready and willing to steal that person’s heart.

Dodger’s fees are reduced 25% with mention of this announcement. For more information, call (714) 536-8480 or visit ochumanesociety.com.
