Fountain Valley adopts economic revitalization plan for 2017
- Share via
The Fountain Valley City Council adopted a five-pronged economic revitalization plan with long- and short-term goals aimed to serve as a city guideline for the upcoming new year.
The plan was approved 4 to 1 with Councilman Mark McCurdy dissenting.
Long-term goals include revitalizing economic development, reaching and maintaining financial stability, refurbishing infrastructure, increasing community outreach and maintaining city services through a three-year time frame.
Public meetings are scheduled through May to assess the progress of the Fountain Valley Crossings, a large shopping center similar to Huntington Beach’s Bella Terra; discuss how to make Fountain Valley more marketable to developers and retailers; and analyze how to implement Measure HH, a 1% sales tax increase to boost city coffers that was passed by voters last month.
