H.B. motorcyclist dies in weekend crash
A 25-year-old motorcyclist died early Saturday morning when he crashed at high speed in Huntington Beach, according to police.
Coroner’s officials identified the victim as Matthew Lithgow, a Huntington Beach resident.
Police were called to the scene around 12:03 a.m. Saturday near the intersection of Warner Avenue and Algonquin Street.
Officers found a 2003 Harley Davidson motorcycle and Lithgow’s body In shrubs near the street, according to a statement from the Huntington Beach Police Department.
Police believe Lithgow was riding west on Warner at a high rate of speed and collided with a curb.
He was not wearing a helmet, according to authorities.
Police are still investigating and are unsure whether alcohol was a factor.
