A 4-year-old Huntington Beach girl died Saturday when a relative accidentally struck her with her vehicle as she was pulling into the driveway, police said.

The Huntington Beach Police Department arrived in the area of Edgewater Lane and Diablo Circle at about 5:30 p.m. and found that the girl had been struck by a 2015 white GMC Yukon being driven by a 65-year-old relative, according to a news release from the department.

Based on a preliminary investigation, police said it appears the woman was pulling into the driveway and didn’t see the child.
