Professional beach volleyball player Casey Patterson (Huntington Beach) will run a two-day Beach Volleyball Camp June 21 and 22 at Huntington Beach State Beach (Pacific Coast Highway at Magnolia Street). The camp is open to youth ages 8 to 19 years old and the cost per camper is $150.

HB softball camp

The Huntington Beach High Oilers Softball Summer Camp for incoming freshman athletes will be held July 11 through 14 at the school’s softball field.

The camp is open to incoming freshman (2016-17 school year) interested in playing in the Huntington softball program in the 2017 season. The camp will run from 3 to 5 p.m. daily and and includes games in July against other prep teams. The cost is $130 per camper. Registration deadline is June 10.

Hoops camp

The Fryer Basketball Academy and Huntington Beach High boys’ basketball Coach Billy Thompson will run a Summer Kids Camp July 18 through 28 at the Huntington Beach High gymnasium.

The camp will run from 10 a.m. to noon daily and is open to youth in grades first through eighth. The cost per camper is $225.

Waves summer camp

The HB Waves Girls’ Basketball program will run a Youth Summer Camp June 27 through 29 at the Huntington Beach High gymnasium (1905 Main Street). The camp is open to youth grades second through eighth and runs daily from 9 to 11 a.m.

Edison football fundraiser

The Edison High football program will hold its annual golf tournament June 27 at SeaCliff Country Club in Huntington Beach (6501 Palm Avenue). The cost for the tournament is $200 and includes golf, a box lunch, barbecue dinner and goodies bag. The guest of honor for the event is former Edison coach Russ Purnell who went on to coach at USC and the past 20 years in the NFL with Super Bowl wins with the Indianapolis Colts (2006, special teams coordinator) and Baltimore Ravens (2000, special teams coordinator). He was assistant special teams coach for the 2015 season with the Carolina Panthers.

Baseball camp at Fountain Valley

Fountain Valley High will be the site of a pair of Baseball Summer Camps starting June 27.

The first camp runs from 8:30 to 11 a.m. June 27 through June 30 for youth grades sixth through eighth (freshman field) and ninth- and 10th-graders (varsity field). The second camp session is from 8:30 to 11 a.m. July 5 through July 8. The cost per camp is $150 and includes a T-shirt and hat for each camper. Check-in each day is at the varsity baseball field.

Moose Invitational June 27

The 11th annual Fountain Valley Football Boosters/Michael Musso Memorial Moose Invitational Golf Tournament will be held June 27 at Mile Square Golf Course (10401 Warner Ave.) in Fountain Valley.

The tournament includes a four-person scramble and contests for longest drive, closest-to-the-pin and putting. The cost is $150 per golfer and covers green fees, cart fees, practice range, door prizes/gift bags, a buffet lunch and banquet dinner. Registration is 11 a.m., shotgun start 1 p.m., and banquet dinner begins at 6 p.m.

The annual golf tournament helps raise money for the Fountain Valley High football program and the Michael Musso Memorial Fund. Musso, a 2004 graduate of Fountain Valley High School, died in a car accident in July 2005. Through the fundraiser, a scholarship is given to a four-year Baron football player each year.

Charger baseball camp

A three-day Charger Baseball Camp for youth ages 9 to 14 (pre-high school) will be held June 28 through 30 at Edison High (21400 Magnolia Street).

The camp, not affiliated with Edison High, will run from 9 a.m. to noon daily and features a variety of baseball techniques under the instruction and supervision of the Edison High coaching staff (led by head coach Cameron Chinn) and current players.

The cost is $120 per camper and each camper will receive an Edison baseball shirt. All campers are asked to bring a baseball glove, hat, bat and shoes, as well as a jacket/refreshments.

Baseball camps at Ocean View

Coach Tanner VanMaanen’s Baseball Camps will run starting July 11 through July 14 at Ocean View High.

The four-day camp sessions are for youth ages 10 to 14 (incoming freshmen welcome) and campers will be grouped according to age. Camps run from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. daily at the Ocean View baseball field. The cost is $60 per camper who will be instructed in various fundamentals and games will be played during the final 30-45 minutes of each day’s session. Campers are asked to bring a glove, sun block and water each day. Baseball attire is recommended.
