The effects of that 13-player trade continued prior to Sunday’s game, with the Dodgers sending reliever Yimi Garcia back down to create a spot on the 25-man roster for Mat Latos.

Latos, acquired Thursday from Miami, is scheduled to make his Dodgers debut Sunday in the series finale against the Angels.

Garcia made the Dodgers out of camp and was just short of a sensation early this season. In his first 14 games, he went 2-0 with a 0.63 ERA.

But in his 27 games since, he is 1-2 with a 6.00 ERA. Overall on the season in two stints with the Dodgers, he is 3-2 with a 3.99 ERA.

Since the Dodgers placed Justin Turner (leg infection) on the 15-day disabled list, Sunday’s move is the last one they have to make because of the trade until he comes off Aug. 11. The Dodgers have now added four players to their roster because of the trade.

Tuesday the team is expected to activate catcher A.J. Ellis and return Austin Barnes to triple-A Oklahoma City.

“A.J.’s been ready for several days,” said Manager Don Mattingly.
