Update: Saturday is an international playing date and the call-up of players to their national teams has hit Chivas USA hard going into the match. Forward Alejandro Moreno is with Venezuela and defenders Michael Umana, Andrew Boyens and Zarek Valentin are with Costa Rica, New Zealand and the U.S. under-20 team, respectively. “It is what it is,” Coach Robin Fraser told MLSsoccer.com. “It doesn’t make sense crying woe is me over it, because these guys have opportunities to represent their country, and that’s a great honor,” In addition, Chivas is still without injured midfielders Simon Elliott and Paulo Nagamura. Defending MLS champion Colorado also was affected by international call-ups and will be without Jamaican forward Omar Cummings and Gambian midfielder Sanna Nyassi.
