Record vs. Rockets (2015-16): 0-4.

Update: The Lakers open the season against former coach Mike D’Antoni, who follows interim coach J.B. Bickerstaff. Bickerstaff took over after the Rockets fired Kevin McHale early last season. The most notable development on the court is the Rockets’ declaring James Harden their point guard, but the difference might be semantic. “He’s always been the focal point of the team, the head of the snake,” Lakers shooting guard Jordan Clarkson said. And Harden will present a challenge very specific to this Lakers team. They’ve struggled to defend without fouling, and Harden is one of the best in the league at drawing fouls.
