Dwight Howard is the subject of a Time Warner Cable SportsNet special entitled “Connected With ... Dwight Howard.”

Scheduled to air at 8 p.m. Tuesday, after the Lakers visit the Orlando Magic, the show will have Howard sitting down with Kevin Frazier for a half-hour interview.

“Right now, my focus is totally on this year, on trying to get to the playoffs,” Howard said to Frazier during the interview. “I’ve had dreams about it, having an amazing second half of the season, get into the playoffs, win the championship and the whole city goes crazy.”

The Lakers have improved to 33-31 but are still on the outside looking in, currently in ninth place behind the Utah Jazz (33-31) by virtue of tiebreaker. The Lakers have 18 games left to solidify a playoff berth in the Western Conference.

“We’re getting it together, learning each other’s game and finally starting to play together,” Howard said.

After a difficult ending with the Magic after eight seasons, Howard offered an apology.

“If I could tell the city of Orlando one thing, it would be that I’m sorry about the way everything happened, but I needed it to happen so I could be a stronger man and person,” he said.
