A video appeared on Twitter this weekend that shows what many of us undoubtedly figure is just a day in the life of Rex and Rob Ryan.

The twin brothers and former NFL coaches — Rex was head coach of the New York Jets and Buffalo Bills, Rob was defensive coordinator for several teams, most recently the Bills — apparently were involved in some sort of scuffle at a Margaritaville restaurant in Nashville.

A video of the incident was shot from outside the business by tourist Frank Washburn and shared on Twitter by his girlfriend, Jessica Aronica. In it, Rex Ryan appears to be tangled up with a man and possibly trying to play peacemaker, while Rob Ryan can be seen with his hand around the same man’s throat at one point.

“A guy walked up to them and threw a margarita at Rex’s face,” Buffalo resident Aronica told Larry Brown Sports. “They stood up, Rob Ryan started screaming and he wrung that guys neck.”

The man who ended up with Rob Ryan’s hand around his throat said he and his wife had been having friendly conversation with the Ryans and other members of the brothers’ party on and off for more than an hour. But, he said, the brothers suddenly became hostile for no apparent reason.

“All of a sudden, they were coming at me in a blur,” said Matthew Havel, 30, from Pueblo, Colo. “It happened so quick.”

A second video was on Twitter but has since been deleted. That one is said to have shown Rex Ryan smiling at some point during the encounter.

The brothers live in Nashville, and Rex Ryan participated in festivities before the Predators’ Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday. They were both fired by the Bills this off-season. Rex Ryan has taken an analyst job with ESPN.
