English Premier League power Arsenal will play a pair of midsummer friendlies in California, meeting the Major League Soccer All-Stars on July 28 in San Jose, then playing Mexico’s Chivas of Guadalajara at StubHub Center in Carson on July 31.

“Preseason is a critically important time for us and we are delighted to be coming to San Jose and Los Angeles,” Arsenal’s Arsene Wenger, the longest-serving EPL coach, said in a statement.

“We have tremendous support across America and enjoyed our visit to New York in the summer of 2014 when we played the New York Red Bulls.”

Arsenal is one of several sports franchises owned by Stan Kroenke, the Missouri-born entrepreneur who is bringing the Rams back to Los Angeles this summer. His soccer team’s preseason California tour will coincide with the Rams’ first preseason camp since leaving St. Louis.

Ticket information and the kickoff time for the Carson game will be announced at a later date, according to officials at StubHub Center.

The opportunity to purchase tickets to the MLS All-Star Game will be determined by lottery, with registration open online.
