The woman many believe could give bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey her greatest test in the Ultimate Fighting Championship octagon has been cleared to fight.

Holly Holm has recovered from a broken arm suffered in the spring, and has been placed on a packed UFC card on Dec. 6 in Las Vegas.

Holm will fight Raquel Pennington (4-4) in what is viewed as her debut showcase in the bantamweight division.

The Dec. 6 card is headlined by welterweight champion Johny Hendricks’ title defense rematch against Robbie Lawler, while lightweight champion Anthony Pettis will defend his belt against Santa Ana native Gilbert Melendez.

Holm, 32, a former professional boxer and kickboxer from New Mexico, is 7-0 in mixed martial arts and her standup striking skill is viewed as a strong answer to Rousey’s ability to win by armbar submission.

Rousey is expected to next fight on the UFC’s Jan. 3 card against top contender Cat Zingano.
