Las Vegas: Proceeds from museum admission to aid police foundation

Visitors to Las Vegas’ Mob Museum will be able to save some money while contributing to a worthy cause and honoring two recently slain police officers.
From 6-9 p.m. on Saturday and again on July 8, guests will be admitted to the museum with a minimum donation of $10 per person, half the regular ticket price.
All proceeds will go to the Friends of LVMPD Foundation in memory of the two Las Vegas police officers killed in a June 8 shooting.
Espousing anti-government views, Jerad and Amanda Miller shot and killed Officers Alyn Beck, 41, and Igor Soldo, 31, as the officers ate lunch at a CiCi’s Pizza in eastern Las Vegas.
The Millers then went to a nearby Wal-Mart where they shot and killed Joseph Robert Wilcox, 31. Then Amanda Miller shot her husband before turning the gun on herself.
Beck, who leaves a wife and three children, had been with the force for 13 years. Soldo, who leaves a wife and a baby, joined in 2006.
