Las Vegas: Trucks gather for the Foodie Fest this weekend on the Strip

Forget counting calories when more than 50 food trucks gather along the Las Vegas Strip for a veritable festival of overindulgence this weekend.

The Las Vegas Foodie Fest will continue Friday through Sunday at the Lot, an outdoor venue across Las Vegas Boulevard from Luxor.

The festival will feature food trucks from Las Vegas, the Southland and beyond. They’ll be serving up plates to please a variety of tastes. Here’s a sampling:

--Dragon Grille: The popular Las Vegas food truck serves Asian fusion dishes, including rice bowls and tacos.

--The Maine Lobster Lady: The “lobster shack on wheels” serves lobster rolls and lobster mac-and-cheese.

--Q Up BBQ of Phoenix: The Phoenix fave barbecues beef brisket, pork and spicy sausage.

--Tornado Potato: In an encore performance in Las Vegas, the Orange County vendor will offer spuds, sliced and served on sticks, in various flavor combinations.

Live acts, carnival rides and eating contests are part of the festivities.

General admission tickets are $10 at the gate.
