27th annual Steinbeck Festival: “A Culture of Discontent: Steinbeck and the 1960s” mines ‘60s culture with activities that include an exhibit of rock posters, a street fair and dinner, and talks about the connection between author John Steinbeck and pop music.
When, where: Aug. 2 to 5, mostly at the National Steinbeck Center, 1 Main St., Salinas.
Admission: $75 for a festival passport, $50 for a single day, including museum admission. Cost of a single panel discussion or talk is $17, including museum admission.
