Your Scene: New Zealand’s jagged edges

Melanie Barrow was traveling in New Zealand with her two daughters last summer after spending two years stationed at Camp Walker, a U.S. Army base in South Korea.

While visiting Kaikoura, a seaside town on South Island known for its eco-tourism, she happened upon this stretch of jagged, extraterrestrial-like coastline.

“The geology itself is fascinating and looks like something out of a sci-fi movie,” she said.
