Water parks are big drawing cards for kids when it comes to summer vacations. The Oasis Water Park comes with a stay at Arizona Grand Resort in Phoenix. The park features a big-wave pool, river tubing, an eight-story tower with water slides, and a hot tub. And now you can get a package that includes tickets to Legoland California.

The deal: The Grand Playcation Package comes with four tickets (two adults, two children) to Legoland California in Carlsbad, Calif. The tickets are good through the end of the year. You have to stay a minimum of two nights to get this deal. Use the promo code “PKGPLA” when making a reservation online or by phone.

When: The offer is good for stays through Dec. 31, though some blackout dates apply. The Legoland California tickets expire Dec. 31 too.

Tested: This resort has many packages to choose from, but I recommend the Legoland ticket offer for families.

In a recent check, I found availability for two nights starting July 8 for a suite with a king-sized bed and sofa bed that sleeps four. The room with the package for those dates cost $199 plus tax a night, with an added $30 plus tax resort fee. (The resort fee gives guests up to four passes to the water park that closes between October and February.) Total cost for two nights with taxes and fees: $519.

So how does the value stack up? The best available rate for the room alone on the same dates without the package was $199 a night plus tax and resort fee. Legoland tickets (as currently shown on the park’s website) included in this package cost $256 -- a nice perk that might make for a second getaway.
