San Diego: Fun times for sports fans at Keating hotel
If you’re headed to Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego to cheer on the Chargers, you’ll find a tailor-made deal at The Keating boutique hotel in the popular Gaslamp Quarter of San Diego. The hotel, located in an 1890s mercantile building, is an eclectic mix of 19th century architecture and contemporary design. It features open floor plans that showcase the building’s original exposed brick walls and vaulted ceilings. There is an underground lounge and the Merk Bistro, which serves Gordon Ramsey farm-to-table dishes.
The deal: The ReCharge package starts at $229 for a double room and includes early check-in, round-trip trolley tickets to Qualcom Stadium, a to-go tailgate picnic, complimentary drinks at Merk Bistro and a free in-room movie.
Tested: I checked availability for Oct. 15, when the Denver Broncos will play the Chargers. No problem booking a standard room on the package for $229. Without the package, I would have paid $249.
