Think they’ll be doing yoga at Coachella this week and next? If not, there’s always Yoga in the City.

It’s a chance to roll out your mat, breathe deeply and participate in community happenings from Southern California to New York City.

Music, speakers and veteran yoga teachers lead outdoor events that are oh-so-accessible for urban dwellers -- and free.

In Los Angeles, you’ll hear music from MC Yogi and DJ Drez and instruction from Mia Togo, Brock Cahill and others.

--Noon on May 12 (Mother’s Day) at Marina Green in San Francisco;
--1 p.m. on June 2 at Grant Park in Chicago;
--1 p.m. on June 9 at Pier 63 in New York City; and
--1 p.m. on June 30 at the Santa Monica Pier in Los Angeles.

Details: Back to those four-day fests. If Yoga in the City inspires you to do more, a festival is planned in California July 18-21 at Squaw Valley, North Lake Tahoe. Tickets for yoga sessions, meditation, talks and musical acts range from $125 for a single day to $375 for a four-day pass.
