Hecuba at Spaceland
Noise-rock in L.A. is having quite a star turn lately with the ascent of local heroes No Age, but hopefully there’s still room on the bandwagon for the local duo Hecuba, whose brand of avant-garde is more tribal and immersive than spazzy and abrasive. Their latest, “Sir,” is built on thick peals of electronics, sassy vocals and a wickedly gloomy sense of humor.
