Dodge is recalling nearly 13,000 of its compact Dart sedan to correct a problem with stalling in cold weather.

The recall affects only Dart sedans that have the 1.4-liter turbocharged engine and the six-speed dual-clutch transmission, according to the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration.

The agency says the car’s engine can stall at temperatures below 20 degrees, leading to the possibility of a crash. No accidents or injuries have been reported as a result of this defect, said company spokesman Eric Mayne.

The recall affects 12,907 vehicles in the U.S., with an additional 1,921 Darts in Canada and Mexico also recalled.

Owners of affected Darts will be contacted by Dodge directly. The company said it will reprogram a control module in the cars free of charge.
