GAO Calls Destroyer Changes Into Question

Repeated changes in the requirements and cost of the Navy’s DDX destroyer program raise questions about the rationale for the warship and whether the service can afford it, the Government Accountability Office said.
The case for the destroyer, which is being developed by a team led by Century City-based Northrop Grumman Corp., “had already changed multiple times since the Navy launched the development effort in 1995,” the GAO said.
