Hemsworth, Pataky buy estate of ‘Crocodile Dundee’ stars
Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky have purchased a Malibu estate from actors Paul Hogan and Linda Kozlowski for $4.8 million.
The remodeled home, built in 1992 and set on an acre, has ocean views, vaulted ceilings and a library. A Victorian exterior belies the more than 6,000 square feet of contemporary interior. There are five bedrooms and six bathrooms.
Hemsworth, 30, stars in the new movie “Rush.” He has starred in such films as “The Cabin in the Woods” (2012), “Snow White & the Huntsman” (2012) and “Thor” (2011) and is the brother of actor Liam Hemsworth.
Pataky, 37, was in this year’s “Fast & Furious 6” as well as “Fast Five” (2011).
Hogan, who turns 74 on Oct. 8, and Kozlowski, 55, are known for the “Crocodile Dundee” films.
They bought the property last year for $3.8 million.

One fewer ranch in the portfolio
Talk-show host Ellen DeGeneres has turned around another property, this time unloading her 26-acre ranch in Thousand Oaks for $10.85 million.
DeGeneres and her spouse, Portia de Rossi, bought the rural property in 2009 for $8.5 million and had it on and off the market for the last two years. The spread includes eight contemporary farmhouse-style cabins, two barns, a yoga pavilion, stables and a tennis court. There are eight bedrooms, 10 full bathrooms and a partial bath.
Patrick Martin of Sotheby’s International Realty’s Sunset Boulevard office and Suzanne Perkins of the Santa Barbara office were the listing agents for the Thousand Oaks property. Lily Harouche of Coldwell Banker’s Malibu West office represented the buyer.
Actor ditches spare rooms
Actor Dennis Quaid has sold a house for $3.315 million in Pacific Palisades.
The “At Any Price” star purchased the remodeled home for $3.1 million earlier this year, several months after he and Kimberly Quaid filed for divorce a second time. They have since reconciled.
The 3,421-square-foot home features an open floor plan, four bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms. There is a saltwater swimming pool, a spa and patio space.
Quaid, 59, starred this year and last in the series “Vegas.” His film work includes “Pandorum” (2009), “Vantage Point” (2008) and “The Day After Tomorrow” (2004).

Paramount head lists Bel-Air estate
Paramount Chief Executive Brad Grey and his wife, Cassandra, have listed their estate in Bel-Air at $27.5 million.
Built in 2006, the traditional-style mansion is gated and sits on more than an acre of land. Features within the 10,616 square feet of living space include a two-story entry with a curved staircase, a paneled den with a bar, a living/media room, a gym, a Pilates studio, five bedrooms and seven bathrooms.
The landscaped grounds include a covered loggia, a swimming pool and a motor court.
Grey bought the property in 2009 for $22 million, public records show.
The couple are building a new house nearby.

Singer, painter on same page
Jake Shears of Scissor Sisters and his partner, filmmaker Chris Moukarbel, have bought the Ulm House in Los Feliz for $1.92 million. The seller was painter Beatrice Findlay.
The Streamline Moderne-style home, attributed to architect William Kesling and built in 1937, features a rounded glass-block illuminated stairwell, walls of windows, three bedrooms, three bathrooms and 2,309 square feet of living space.
Shears, who turns 35 on Thursday, is the lead male singer of the pop band.
The property came on the market in July at $1.9 million. Findlay purchased it in 1977 for $138,000.

Musician parts with in-home studio
Electronic music pioneer Erez Eisen has sold his Studio City home with an in-house studio for $1.2 million and bought another house for $820,000.
Set in the Colfax Meadows area, the ranch-style home he sold includes a recently built professional-grade recording studio with a voice booth. The 2,500-square-foot home, built in 1938, has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. There’s a lagoon-style swimming pool with a spa.
The property was purchased in 2007 for $1.1 million, public records show.
The midcentury house Eisen bought was not listed on the market.
Eisen and Amit Duvdevani founded Infected Mushroom in 1998. The duo have influenced the DJ and trance music scenes worldwide. “Army of Mushrooms,” their most recent album, was released last year.
