You can now deposit checks using the Bank of America iOS app

Bank of America customers will no longer have to go to their bank’s ATMs to deposit checks. They can now do it from their iPhones or iPads.

The company updated its iPhone app Wednesday to include the feature, which earlier this year it announced would arrive on its mobile devices. The feature was introduced to the iPad late last month.

The new feature can be accessed by signing into your account through the app. Once signed in, you will see three new buttons near the top. The one on the right reads “Deposits,” which you click to get to the feature. The first time you use the feature you will have to click “Get started,” and you’ll have to accept the terms of service, but then you’re good to go.

You can then deposit a check by taking a picture of both the front and the back, and you can decide how much money goes into each of your accounts.

The feature is similarly accessible on the iPad app, and according to MyBankTracker, it is heading to Android and Windows Phone at some point too.

Mobile check deposits aren’t a brand new idea, though. Chase has included it on its mobile apps for some time now, and the feature was first introduced by USAA, a military-focused bank, three years ago, according to PCMag.

Wells Fargo also has plans to offer the feature to all its customers before the end of the year, according to the San Francisco Business Times. Other banks also include the feature as well.
