J.Lo and Marc spin one off
Dancer-singer-actress Jennifer Lopez may have taken a tumble during a performance of her new single, “Louboutins,” at the American Music Awards last month, but she’s on terra firma where the sale of her French country villa is concerned.
The Bel-Air property that she and her singer husband, Marc Anthony, listed more than a year ago at $8.5 million has sold for $7.5 million, according to the Multiple Listing Service.
The walled and gated house, built in 1941, sits on three-quarters of an acre and has five fireplaces, hardwood and stone floors, and a second-floor terrace looking out over the back lawn. There are four bedrooms and 5 1/2 bathrooms in 7,357 square feet.
The compound includes a detached guesthouse/studio, a swimming pool and pool house, Provençal gardens and pathways with arched trellises.
J.Lo, 40, started her career dancing as a Fly Girl on “In Living Color” (1990) and got her big acting break when she was cast to star in “Selena” (1997). Her movie credits include “Bordertown” (2006), “Monster-in-Law” (2005) and “Maid in Manhattan” (1997). She will star in the 2010 romantic comedy “The Back-Up Plan.”
As a singer, the star has sold more than 48 million albums worldwide. Among her hits are “Jenny From the Block” and “Love Don’t Cost a Thing.” She recently performed on the finale of “So You Think You Can Dance.”
Salsa and pop singer Anthony, 41, won Latin Grammys in 1999 and 2005.
The pair bought the property in 2005 for $6.25 million, public records show.

Actors are on to next engagement
Actor Oliver Hudson and his wife, actress Erinn Bartlett,have purchased an East Coast-inspired home in Brentwood for about $2 million, the MLS shows.
The 4,000-square-foot house has a fireplace in the upstairs family room, high ceilings, crown molding and a master bedroom sitting room that could be converted to another bedroom. The four-bedroom, 4 1/2 -bath traditional has two stories and was built in 2005 off a cul-de-sac.
Hudson, 33, is in the comedy “Rules of Engagement” (2007-present). His credits include “Dawson’s Creek” (2002-03) and “The Mountain” (2004-05). He is the son of Goldie Hawn and Bill Hudson.
The listing agent was Simon Beardmore of Sotheby’s International Realty, Brentwood, while Richard Ehrlich of Westside Estate Agency, Beverly Hills, represented the buyers.
Plastic surgeon lowers his fee
The Beverly Hills home of Dr. Robert Rey, star of E! Entertainment Television’s “Dr. 90210,” has come back on the market at $4,395,000.
The gated Mediterranean-style house has six bedrooms and eight bathrooms in 8,000 square feet. It features a two-story entry with a sweeping staircase, 14-foot living-room ceilings, a veranda with a fireplace, a large gym with a martial-arts area, a swimming pool and a guesthouse.
Once the home of actress Raquel Welch,the three-story residence retains her double-height closets in the master bedroom suite, which also includes his-and-her bathrooms, a sitting area and a fireplace.
Rey, 48, has been a regular on the reality show featuring Beverly Hills plastic surgeons since its inception in 2004. He had listed the home earlier in the year at $5,295,000.
The property previously sold in 2005 for $4.48 million, public records show.

Inventor and master pitchman Ron Popeil,who sold his Ronco marketing company in 2005 for $55 million, has listed a gated Beverly Hills home for sale.
The English country-style house sits on more than an acre containing a lighted north-south tennis court, a large pool with a deck area and a two-story guesthouse. There are six bedrooms and 8 1/2 bathrooms in 4,555 square feet of living space.
But wait, there’s more!
The main house has elaborate wood ceilings, extensive French doors and windows, dramatic slate floors, and mountain and canyon views. The kitchen center island can easily seat six. Brick patios and terraces expand entertaining space outdoors.
Now how much would you pay?
Popeil, 74, is asking $5,995,000. But perhaps he’ll consider three easy installments.
A fixture on infomercials and late-night television for decades, he promoted products including the Veg-O-Matic, the Inside-the-Shell egg scrambler and Ronco’s Good Looking Hair Formula 9 spray-on hair, many of which were invented by his father, Samuel Popeil, or himself.
The Chop-O-Matic helped launch Ron Popeil in television, which proved to be an effective way to demonstrate the device to mass audiences.

Producer swaps horse properties
Producer Marshall Herskovitz has sold his home in a Brentwood equestrian area for $4.6 million.
The one-story ranch-style house, built in 1948, was designed for entertaining and opens to covered patios and an expansive backyard. The flat lot of more than half an acre includes a swimming pool and spa. The 2,655-square-foot home has four bedrooms and three bathrooms.
Herskovitz, 57, recently purchased an equestrian home in Calabasas for $4.1 million.
The film and television producer, director and writer was the co-creator and executive producer of the Emmy Award-winning “thirtysomething” (1987-1991). He produced “Blood Diamond” (2006) and “I Am Sam” (2001).
The Brentwood property sold in 1995 for $1,950,000, according to public records.
