Jakob Dylan lists Brentwood Park home at $11 million

Like a rolling stone, singer-songwriter Jakob Dylan -- he of the famous daddy -- may be moving on.

The 39-year-old son-of-the-great-one -- who isn’t exactly a slouch in the music world himself -- has listed his classic Brentwood Park Spanish estate at $11 million.

The main house has been extensively restored and expanded and includes five bedrooms upstairs, one of them the master suite. There is a two-story guesthouse and a second guesthouse that is currently used as a recording studio. Square footage was not available, but the property has seven bedrooms, eight bathrooms and seven fireplaces, according to the Multiple Listing Service.

The home is gated, and there is a lap pool and a spa. The kitchen features stainless-steel appliances and a center island.

Dylan, whose latest album, “Seeing Things,” was released in May, is best known as the lead singer and songwriter of the rock band the Wallflowers. He is the youngest of four children born to Bob Dylan and his ex-wife, Sara Dylan.

Richard Stearns of Sotheby’s International Realty, Brentwood, is the listing agent, according to the MLS.

Brentwood to get more countrified

Sometimes, Hollywood real estate transactions feel more like baton-passings than house transfers -- one entertainment heavyweight turning over the keys to another. An example: Former ABC President Alex Wallau recently sold his Brentwood home to country music singer Mac Davis for $4.9 million.

The three-bedroom, 3 1/2 -bathroom, 4,098-square-foot house has a two-story entry, a formal dining room, a chef’s kitchen and a glass-walled family room. There is a fireplace in the master suite, an exercise room with views and a state-of-the-art theater system. The property also has a pool, a spa and an outdoor dining area.

Davis, 66, has had a decades-long career singing, songwriting and acting. He wrote “In the Ghetto” for Elvis Presley. Among Davis’ own hits are “Baby Don’t Get Hooked on Me,” “Stop and Smell the Roses” and “One Hell of a Woman.” He hosted a musical variety show for NBC from 1974 to 1976 and in 1979 starred in the film “North Dallas Forty” with Nick Nolte.

Wallau was president of the ABC Television Network from 2000 to 2004. He serves on the board of ESPN and twice won Emmys for producing and directing ABC’s sports coverage.

$6-million-plus for a tear-down?

Jeff Franklin, who produced such TV hits as “Full House,” “Hangin’ With Mr. Cooper” and “Malcolm & Eddie,” hopes to score a hit on the sale of his Sunset Strip-area house, now listed at $6,495,000.

The walled and gated private site is being sold for land value, according to the MLS. The house is a tear-down with three bedrooms and three bathrooms in 3,027 square feet. The property is at the end of a cul-de-sac and has city views.

Franklin also worked on “Laverne & Shirley,” “Gimme a Break!” and “Bosom Buddies.”

Josh Flagg of Keller Williams Realty Westside and Brendan Fitzpatrick of Hilton & Hyland, Beverly Hills, co-listed the property, according to the MLS.

Ritzy times 10, minus millions

The price of high-end real estate mogul Mohamed Hadid’s latest Beverly Hills offering just took a dip in the old infinity pool. Hadid lowered the price from $16.5 million to $12.9 million -- it was originally listed in July -- on a 12,000-square-foot spec home.

Hadid, who is known for his development of Ritz-Carlton hotels, also builds high-end homes on a grand Old World scale. Think opulence times 10 -- artisans brought in to do the handcrafting, top-of-the-line materials, design features that make mere mortals drool.

To get to this newly constructed home, you cross a Jerusalem-stone bridge over water; I’m sure no fishing is allowed. The modern Balinese-style home has imported materials from all over the world -- bamboo, exotic Asian woods.

The doors are as thick as trees, glass windows run from floor to ceiling and three separate master suites are among the six bedrooms and nine bathrooms. The house has a home theater, wine cellar and an infinity pool with unobstructed views. A Hadid touch: The furnishings were custom-made for each space and are included in the price.

Hadid is the guy who successfully went head-to-head with the Donald to acquire what was considered the choicest piece of land in Aspen, Colo., in the 1990s.

Alex Davis of Hilton & Hyland, Beverly Hills, shares the listing with Joyce Rey and Stacy Gottula of Coldwell Banker, Beverly Hills.
